About the Hub

Compassionate Learning for Personal and Professional Growth

Bay Training Hub offers a growing collection of online courses created to educate, encourage and empower.

Founded by Dr Baylissa Frederick, the Hub brings together more than two decades of therapeutic experience, specialist knowledge, professional training and lived understanding.

The courses are designed for individuals seeking practical support for their wellbeing, as well as counsellors, psychotherapists, coaches, caregivers and other professionals who wish to deepen their knowledge and strengthen the support they offer to others.

Learning That Meets You Where You Are

At Bay Training Hub, learning is intended to feel clear, accessible and compassionate.

Some courses provide specialist professional education and Continuing Professional Development. Others offer practical information, reflection and gentle tools for people navigating difficult life experiences.

Each course clearly explains whom it is for, what it covers and what participants may gain from completing it.

The courses are delivered online and can be completed at your own pace. You can pause when needed, revisit lessons and move through the material in a way that suits your circumstances.

Courses for Individuals

The Hub offers courses to support people experiencing emotional, psychological or physical challenges, including those affected by prescribed drug injury and withdrawal.

Depending on the course, participants may be supported to:

  • understand more about what they are experiencing
  • feel less overwhelmed or alone
  • develop greater self-awareness and self-kindness
  • respond more skilfully to fear, stress and difficult emotions
  • learn practical ways to support nervous system regulation
  • strengthen resilience and confidence
  • take gentle, realistic steps in support of their wellbeing

These courses do not ask participants to deny their suffering, force positivity or pretend that difficult experiences are easy. Instead, they provide compassionate guidance and practical resources to help people feel more informed, supported and empowered.

Training for Professionals and Caregivers

Bay Training Hub also provides specialist courses for counsellors, psychotherapists, coaches, support workers, caregivers and others who wish to develop their professional knowledge and skills.

Topics may include:

  • prescribed drug dependence, withdrawal and associated injury
  • compassionate and trauma-informed support
  • counselling and coaching skills
  • mindfulness and self-compassion
  • nervous system regulation
  • active listening and supportive communication
  • ethical practice and professional boundaries
  • safeguarding, risk awareness and signposting
  • supporting people through prolonged or frequently misunderstood difficulties

Where indicated, courses are accredited for Continuing Professional Development. CPD accreditation applies only to courses that are clearly identified as accredited.

Home of the MASA® Programme

Bay Training Hub is also home to the MASA® Programme, created by Dr Baylissa Frederick as a gentle and practical framework for navigating emotional and psychological challenges.

MASA® is based upon four central principles: mindfulness, acceptance, self-compassion and appropriate action.

Originally developed to support people affected by prescribed drug injury and withdrawal, the framework may also be adapted to support people facing other difficult life experiences.

A Compassionate Approach to Learning

At the heart of every course is the belief that people learn best when they feel respected, understood and free from judgement.

The Hub does not promote blame, shame, forced positivity or unrealistic promises. Its purpose is to offer thoughtful education, practical skills and compassionate encouragement.

Whether you are here to support your own wellbeing or to improve the care and guidance you offer to others, you are welcome to learn at your own pace and take from each course what is most relevant and helpful to you.
